Our January Wrap Up!

It's already February, which is absolutely insane! That being said, we have been busy reading and have our January wrap up ready for y'all!

As many of you have probably done, we have set some new year's resolutions for 2022. One being to read 100 books (collectively so 50 each)! We started this year with reading a total of 7 books. We decided to rate them all for you and tell you our thoughts! :)

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers

5/5 stars

We LOVED this book! It was such a fun read and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it. We originally only bought this book to read because there was a movie coming out that looked fantastic, and we prefer to read books before we see their respective movies. That being said, even if you don't go see the movie, this book is 100% worth reading!

Sir Gawain and The Green Knight

2/5 stars

This was, as you may have guessed, a school book, and we've read it before. It wasn't a bad book, but it is rather difficult to read and personally just isn't the type of book we would have chosen to read ourselves. It is one of those classics that everyone should read at some point and it's pretty short with an interesting plot!

In Five Years by Rebecca Serle

3/5 stars

This was a great book with all the feels! We were not a huge fan of the ending though, it was realistic just not what we were hoping for or expecting. We loved how relatable the characters were and the New York setting was dreamy! It was kind of sad, so if you pick this book up, don't say we didn't warn you!

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

5/5 stars

This book was super interesting! The first in the trilogy showed levels of complexity behind the characters, but the world building was taken a step further. Most books either have good character building or good world building, but NO! This world building is god tier. We were entertained the whole time and completely blown away by this book!

A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab

4/5 stars

Once again, we were reminded of how much we love V.E. Schwab! Being the second book in the Darker Shades of Magic trilogy, we were pleased to find that we loved it almost as much as the first. The ending of this book had us reeling and itching to find out what happened next!

A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab

5/5 stars

This book… we just can't…. it was stunning…. near perfection. Just go read it!

Dead Poets Society by N.H. Kleinbaum

4/5 stars

The story was amazing! It made us want to go run off in the woods and read poetry by the moonlight. Not only was the book good, but the movie… tears.
